Why This Book First?

I wrote my first book, "Hope-Searching For A Door In The Dark" because I know that so many people struggle, like I do, with holding onto hope. And when hope is thin, the thought of "holding onto hope" is overwhelming and exhausting because you just don't have the resources to "hold on" anymore. In the book I suggest "resting into hope" and "letting hope hold you".

This book is not a self-help, pull yourself up by your bootstraps, academic message on how to regain hope. It is a guide, a companion, to journey with you through the dark times. The stories are true- many from my own experiences. The book is intentionally small so as to not be overwhelming.

Chapters in the book also explore questions about hope- "Where is the hope when...?" These questions came from survey responses and include topics like cancer and suicide.

I wrote this book because so many people are experiencing hopelessness. In this modern world it seems that more and more people are losing hope. It is my wish that this book helps others find the way back, to find the door in the dark.
